Out of the Box

Analogue Forever

→ Identity

Recently I’ve been toying with the idea of producing some t-shirt designs and came up with this logo. Not sure if or when I will get round to producing some finished designs, but I was particularly happy with the way this logo came out and thought I would share.

The theme of the brand would be the general coolness of all things analogue. Think vinyl records, film photography, handwritten text and art, all things retro, and the general fight against the digital revolution. One day I will develop this more...

Out of the Box

→ Graphic design, print work & web design

I recently designed artwork for a Neil Anderson conference which I used across print and web. An A6 flyer was originally designed and from this I put together a branded promotional web page and banner ads for the Kings Church Eastbourne website.

The promotional web page is online at www.kingschurch.eu/box

SA Design Mail-out

Self Promotion Mail-out

→ Print Work

Really pleased with the way my latest self-promotion mail-out has come back from the printers. It’s basically a greetings card with a neat set of samples placed inside.

Kings Church: Atonement

Kings Church: Atonement

→ Graphic Design & Identity

‘Atonement’ is the latest teaching series at Kings Church Eastbourne & Seaford. For each series we designed a graphic identity which is then used over a range of media: video branding & poster frames, podcasts artwork, custom web page, web banners and DVD/CD resources.

Pinhole Photography

→ Holga Wide Pinhole Camera, Medium Format Film

Here are some of the images from my first three rolls of film on my new ultra-wide pinhole camera. Click on the thumbnails to view large. Two redscale shots (1 & 3) where a red colour-cast is achieved by spooling the film back-to-front.

The second shot was captured on slide film and then cross-processed in C-41 chemicals (usually used on regular negatives). This really freaks up the colour and can produce some pretty cool effects. The final shot was taken with good old-fashioned black and white film.

Really pleased with the results so far. Overall the camera produces some very lo-fi images. The focus is really soft with heavy vignetting. No focusing required (the depth-of-field is pretty immense, f/135), just a tripod and a long exposure.

Looking forward to getting out and about with this camera more and more.

The Eastbourne Exchange

→ Identity

Pictured here is an example of a first set of logo designs submitted for a branding project. When designing a logo I typically start by drawing up 5 to 7 concepts, which provide a good starting point for feedback and development.

Each client is different. Some have very specific tastes, like to see lots of ideas, and often repeat the design process several times before settling on a final logo. Others prefer to choose a final design off my initial submission, and benefit from a lower design fee.

If you would like to discuss a project and costs, please feel to contact me.

Vivo Café Bar

→ Logo & Business Card

I recently did a design revision and reprint of the business/loyalty cards for Vivo Café bar at Kings Centre, Eastbourne. Thought the reprint came out really well and worthy of inclusion here.

The City Church, Canterbury & Whitstable

→ Conceptual Design for Web Development

Concept designs for The City Church based in Canterbury and Whitstable. Ten templates were designed and then handed over to web developers to integrate the Content Management System, producing the live site.

The website also integrates with Church Community Builder – a sophisticated church management system. Great for large and growing congregations.

You can view preview images of each template design by clicking the images to the left. The final, full-size designs can be viewed here.
